Knitwear hole repair

Our maintenance and repair services are available for Alpa products.

Basic repair involves repairing a hole or a tear of about the size of a fingertip, which has not started to spread more widely.

Challenging repair involves most situations when the knit has unravelled more widely. In challenging situations, always contact customer service first for checking if repair is possible. You can contact us even if you are not sure what kind of repair to choose.

• Repairing is done as neatly as possible.
• The original yarn is used for the repair, if possible.

Please make sure the knit is clean before you send it to us.

Do the following steps:

1. Add the repair service of your choice to your shopping cart and pay for the order. Enter the shipping address to which you want the product returned once the repair is complete. Save your order number.
2. When packing your garment for shipment, include a note with the order number, so we can mail the garment back to you. Please also include an explanation of the defect that needs repairing, the name of the product (if known), as well as the colour and the size. NOTE: Write the text “Repair Service” visibly on the outside of the package.
3. Contact customer service at info@alpaknitwear.com to arrange for the shipping.
4. We’ll send the garment back to you when the service is complete – in about 4-6 weeks. Delivery will be to the address you provided when ordering the repair service.

Please note that the service time includes an important safety step: When the knitwear arrives, it is first kept in a freezer for a week. This practice minimises the risk of textile pests ending up on our premises and moving from one knitwear to another.

You can also inquire about repair or washing services from your local clothing care professionals. Using local services may be quicker and more ecological than shipping your knitwear to us. We can send you yarn for repair if necessary. Please contact us by e-mail if you need repair yarn for your knitwear.
